Job Purpose:

To carry out electrical installation works in accordance with current wiring regulations standards, providing a professional service and working in a variety of sectors across the UK.

Main Duties:
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components and equipment.
  • Work at height using the appropriate access equipment, such as mobile towers, steps, or scaffolding.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
  • Ensure works are completed within the agreed time frames using the resources available.
  • Manage and support all contracting engineers on site.
  • Attend all sites requested by the Company within the agreed time frames.
  • Complete all work to the best of your ability and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations standards.
  • Complete and return all paperwork to the office in the agreed time scales.
  • Work outside of normal hours, including weekends, and work away from home and/or on nights if required.
  • Be aware of the budgetary and commercial implications of the work.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager/supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Be a fully qualified Electrician (according to JIB status).
  • Hold SMSTS qualification.
  • Hold C&G 238 qualification.
  • Hold 18th Edition qualification.
  • Hold IPAF qualification.
  • Hold JIB (CSCS) card.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years on-site experience working on electrical installations.
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings in relation to electrical installation projects.
  • Be able to test own electrical installation works.
  • Be able to work with electronic devices, such as android tablets, to communicate via email.
  • Hold a driving license and be able to competently drive a large van.
  • Be willing and able to travel when required.
  • Be willing and able to work unsociable hours and work away from home when required.
