Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Protection Advisor to join our team at Rullion Ltd.

This is a contract position that requires the successful candidate to provide guidance and advice on radiological safety to ensure legislative compliance and adoption of industry best practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience of the following:

  • Able to gain SC clearance
  • In date RPA 2000 certificate of competence
  • Nuclear industry experience
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong awareness of nuclear, conventional safety and security requirements

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing guidance and advice on radiological safety
  • Developing and implementing improvements to radiation protection systems, processes and infrastructure
  • Preparing, reviewing and approving radiological protection and process documentation
  • Providing guidance for the onsite health physics teams
  • Providing technical guidance and selection and calibration of radiation monitoring equipment, sources and monitoring systems
  • Providing onsite supervision of contractors working in radiological areas
  • Delivering radiological protection courses to stakeholders
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of radiological best practices and UK legislation
  • Responding to onsite incidents involving radioactive materials
