Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join our Learning Disabilities department as a key member of the Allendale House Shared Living Service team in Newcastle upon Tyne.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and management support to staff, ensuring that individuals receive high-quality care and services. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement strategies that promote the health, wellbeing, and safety of our service users.

This is a full-time role, working on a contract basis, with some alternate weekend working. The salary for this position is £25,725 per annum, plus generous on-call payments. A new starter bonus, refer-a-friend payment scheme, and annual bonus are also offered.

We require candidates with previous experience in similar roles and a background working with learning disabilities. A proven track record of managing teams and implementing person-led care is essential. You should have a working understanding of governance surrounding community care and experience in writing Support Plans and managing services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To contribute to the selection and induction of new staff, taking into consideration the wishes of service users.
  • To lead and motivate staff, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • To monitor the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of service users, ensuring that appropriate action is taken when necessary.
  • To ensure that safeguarding procedures are embedded in all staff, facilitating the protection and safety of service users.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role and a background working with learning disabilities.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and implementing person-led care.
  • Working understanding of governance surrounding community care.
  • Experience in writing Support Plans and managing services.
