Job Description

Renishaw is seeking a highly skilled Senior Metrology Engineer to join our CMM and Gauging Products division. As a key member of our metrology team, you will be responsible for developing calibration algorithms for new CMM products and investigating issues to improve the metrology performance of existing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of new and existing products as part of the metrology team
  • Develop, implement, and test calibration and measurement algorithms for CMM systems, including probes and heads
  • Write high-quality design documentation
  • Collaborate with the software department to deploy metrology algorithms and analysis tools
  • Investigate metrology issues and design improvements for existing products
  • Provide support to application and customer support engineers
Requirements
  • Degree-level education in physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Strong mathematical skills, including knowledge of 3D geometry, coordinate system transformations, and data analysis
  • Experience with software such as MATLAB, Python, or C# for data analysis and modeling
  • Good understanding of the scientific method and ability to apply it
Desirable Requirements
  • Knowledge of CMMs, probes, and metrology systems
  • Object-oriented software development experience in C++ or C#
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and their impact on metrology product performance
