We are seeking a skilled Craft Chef to join our team at Sodexo, working at St Thomas Moore Catholic High School and affiliated primary schools in Nuneaton. As a Craft Chef, you will play a key role in overseeing the food and beverage operations, ensuring high-quality service and presentation. You will work closely with the Cook Manager to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, cook, and present food to company standards, including breakfast, morning break, lunch, and hospitality.
- Adhere to all company compliance, including food safety, health and safety, allergen awareness, COSHH, and HACCP regulations.
- Carry out craft/skills training for catering staff.
- Ensure all service counters and food are presented to company standards.
- Guarantee each dish served is portioned according to business requirements.
- Complete daily/weekly cleaning duties as instructed by the line manager, including food preparation and storage areas, catering communal areas, and removal of waste.
- Deliver exceptionally high standards in customer service, cleanliness, tidiness, and operational activity.
- A minimum of 1 year's experience in hands-on cooking, training on food hygiene, and health and safety.
- Expertise in cooking on a large scale, serving 100-1300 students.
- Experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting.
- Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
- Awareness of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
- Professionalism, leading by example, and a positive outlook.
- Basic food handling skills certification.
