We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in the Wakefield area. As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work 1:1 with a pupil diagnosed with autism and challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:- Work 1:1 with a pupil diagnosed with autism and challenging behaviour
- Support the pupil in and out of the classroom
- Have experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or in classes
- Have knowledge and understanding of various SEN needs
- Be flexible, patient and proactive
- Be trained in safeguarding or have relevant experience
- NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
- Understanding of the UK SEN Code of Practice
- Competitive pay based upon experience
- Potential to go permanent
- Comprehensive training opportunities through Prospero courses
Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application. You must also provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.
