We are seeking an experienced neonatal nurse to join our team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a senior member of our neonatal team, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most complex and pioneering medical care in the field.

Our Level 3 Bliss accredited tertiary neonatal intensive care unit is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, individualised care and support to our babies and their families. We are committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for our patients, as reflected in our NNAP 2023 results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care for complex and critically ill newborns, including those requiring total body cooling, HFOV, Nitric Oxide Therapy, and Laser ROP.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • Participate in extended role development, including retrieval and neonatal life support, and rotational opportunities in Neonatal Outreach, Family Integrated and Developmental Care, Infant Feeding, Education, and Research teams.
Requirements
  • Current RN registration with NMC and relevant post-registration qualifications.
  • BSc Degree in a relevant field.
  • Post-reg qualifications for specialty area (QIS).
  • Teaching qualification/experience and accredited NMC before mentorship course.
  • Masters degree and evidence of working towards.
Person Specification
  • Significant demonstrable experience within specialty in level 3 NICU with evidence of professional development.
  • Evidence of team leadership and change management with relevant management/leadership course.
  • Managing resources and contributing to departmental budget.
  • Evidence of developing policy, guidelines, and managing resources.
