Housekeeper Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Housekeeper Assistant in the Oncology Day Unit at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide refreshments to patients and relatives attending the day unit for anti-cancer treatment.
- To receive, welcome and guide visitors coming onto the unit, liaising with other staff as appropriate.
- To act as a ward contact point for the catering department.
- To check all food items held in the kitchen to ensure good practice with stock rotation and dispose of any items that have exceeded their designated use by date.
- To collect medications and chemotherapy from the pharmacy.
- To deliver samples and items within the hospital.
- To ensure the ward is clean and safe for patients and staff.
- To be responsible for ensuring the ward is fully stocked, including the nursing trolleys, that equipment is in date, stored correctly and store areas are tidy.
- To complete fridge temperature audits and escalate concerns to the ward lead.
- To be responsible for keeping linen stocked in both the cupboard and trolley.

- English qualification (for example GCSE)
- Math qualification (for example GCSE)
Experience

- Experience with working with members of the public

- Experience of working in a healthcare organization

- To have basic computer skills

- Previous experience of hospital IT systems
