Commercial Quantity Surveyor

**Job Overview**

Macstaff is seeking a skilled Commercial Quantity Surveyor to manage project commercials for our clients in the Kettering and Northants area. As a key member of our close-knit commercial team, you will be involved in exciting projects across various sectors, including healthcare.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Building Services Sector, either in a consultancy or contracting background. They will likely be working as a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, or Electrical Quantity Surveyor.

We are looking for someone with excellent analytical and communication skills to prepare and report Cost Value Reconciliation Reports, analyse and evaluate commercial risks, and maintain all contract documentation. Additionally, they will advise on contractual matters, procure sub-contracts, and manage variations.

To succeed in this role, you must have strong technical and commercial knowledge, as well as the ability to develop positive long-term customer relationships. You will also oversee junior quantity surveyors and work closely with the project management team.

**Responsibilities**

• Preparing and reporting Cost Value Reconciliation Reports
• Analysing and evaluating commercial risks
• Maintaining all contract documentation and advising on contractual matters
• Sub-Contract procurement and management, including monthly valuations and certifications
• Preparation and submission of interim valuations to clients
• Ongoing management of variations
• Agreement of final accounts
• Overseeing Junior Quantity Surveyors
• Procurement of specialist sub-contract packages alongside the project management team
• Procurement of specialist plant and equipment alongside the project management team
• Develop and maintain positive long-term customer relationships

**Requirements**

To be successful as a Commercial Quantity Surveyor, you will need:

• Experience working within the Building Services Sector with either a Consultancy or Contracting background
• Strong technical and commercial knowledge
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Able to develop positive long-term customer relationships
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
