At Sense Street, we are revolutionising natural language understanding in capital markets. Our mission is to empower investment banks and asset managers through strategic partnerships with global financial institutions, leveraging cutting-edge language models tailored to the nuances of capital markets.

We seek an experienced NLP expert to join our innovative team of machine learning scientists, engineers, domain specialists, and annotators. As a Capital Markets NLP Specialist, you will be responsible for prototyping novel methods for dialogue data, contributing to state-of-the-art models, and driving the productionisation of products in the financial domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific depth to our data science team.
  • Design new NLP tasks from raw data through innovative ML methods to finalised products.
  • Collaborate with product, annotation teams, and engineers to drive process around the ML pipeline.
  • Drive innovation on tasks that are in specialised domains and do not conform to standard NLP tasks.
  • Think creatively and innovatively to produce effective models.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable NLP experience (MSc or PhD or relevant industry experience).
  • Good programming skills, especially with Python and familiarity with Pandas, PyTorch.
  • Proven track-record of end-to-end design for NLP systems.
  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Extensive background in using and developing deep learning methods.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of foreign languages.
  • Familiarity with Pydantic, Streamlit, Elasticsearch, LLM architectures, multi-gpu training, and evaluation.

Our estimated salary range for this position is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, based on national averages and considering the requirements and qualifications needed for the role.
