We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Theatre Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our Ophthalmology team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality patient care in a variety of surgical specialties, including Ophthalmology. As a Theatre Scrub Nurse/Practitioner, you will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a safe and efficient operating theatre environment, and supporting the surgical team during procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills.
- Acknowledge personal preferences, rights, and choices of patients undergoing surgery.
- Maintain health, safety, and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Store, prepare, and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies.
- Support, monitor, and care for patients during clinical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and legible records of care.
We offer a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing training, and support to help you develop your skills and competencies in this role. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of surgical specialties, including Ophthalmology, and will be part of a dynamic and supportive team.
Requirements:To be successful in this role, you will need to have relevant experience in a theatre environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to maintain accurate and legible records of care.
