Social Care Support Worker

We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our team as Social Care Reserve. As a Social Care Reserve, you will work in busy teams within local care homes in and around Staffordshire to assist residents in activities of daily living, promoting their comfort. Although the roles will initially be temporary, we are promoting our permanent recruitment service to local providers, and our staff will have access to permanent roles within care homes and be paid to attend 2 shadow shifts as working interviews. These roles can be full time or part time, however we are unable to offer sponsorship for these roles at this time.
Key Responsibilities
As a Social Care Reserve, you will be working in partnership with other health professionals and agencies to meet the requirements of the residents. You will have access to their support plan which will give you all the information you need to do the job. You will be required to prompt residents to take medication and assist with intimate personal care such as bathing, hygiene, continence care, skin integrity and meal preparation. You will also be responsible for promoting patient focused care, assisting patients in activities of daily living, promoting patient comfort, delivering support plans and safeguarding vulnerable people, contributing to outcome focused reviews, encouraging people's independence, choice, health and wellbeing, encouraging individuals to use equipment and assistive technology, facilitating individuals' transition to alternative services and support if needed, engaging in organisational learning and development, providing excellent patient care and support, and recording care complete documentation and feedback.
Person Specification
We are looking for individuals who have a desire to care and look after residents. Previous personal or professional care experience is desirable. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
