Job Title: Supervising Social Worker - Parenting Assessment Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team in a Parenting Assessment unit. The successful candidate will have a strong background in social work, with a focus on parenting assessments and working with families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 5 families at any given time, providing long-term support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
- Conduct thorough assessments and reports, working within deadlines to ensure timely completion.
- Chair meetings and liaise with other professionals involved in the cases, maintaining strong working relationships with supporting agencies.
- Take the lead on specific parenting programs, supporting parents with children up to the age of 7.
- Produce statements and give evidence in court, as required.
- Take referrals and secure placement planning meetings, working to achieve the best outcomes for our children and families.
- Undertake statutory duties in accordance with National Standards and Regulations, ensuring a high level of professionalism and expertise.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in social work.
- 2 years of post-qualifying experience in social work, with a focus on parenting assessments.
- Current SWE registration.
- Experience in undertaking specialist PAM assessments, using the psychodynamic framework to understand family dynamics.
- Knowledge and experience in using the psychodynamic framework as a tool in understanding family dynamics to support families to reach their potential.
- Experience in undertaking parenting programs, working with families to achieve their goals.
- Experience working in safeguarding, ensuring the well-being and safety of our children and families.
- Experience in giving evidence in court, as required.
