University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced and compassionate Senior Theatre Practitioners to join their theatre team. These roles are ideal for individuals who can provide integrated clinical leadership, promote high-quality efficient perioperative patient care, and support staff development.

About the Role

As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will have at least two years of experience in surgical scrub and/or anaesthetics. Your skills to lead and support the multidisciplinary team within theatre will be essential in promoting high-quality efficient perioperative patient care. This position involves covering surgical specialties/anaesthetics and having in-charge responsibilities and coordinating within the department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide integrated clinical leadership to a team of Nurses, ODPs, and HCSWs creating an environment that produces and delivers the highest possible standards of patient care.
  • Assume responsibility for the operational management of staff and resources, taking a lead in a specific aspect of operational management in the Theatre setting.
  • Support and empower staff to develop high levels of clinical skills and autonomy.
Requirements
  • Appropriate post-registration experience in Theatre practice.
  • Proven leadership and management experience.
  • Proven commitment and experience in teaching.
  • Experience as preceptor/mentor.
  • Experience of undertaking research or audit projects.
