Job Summary:

AFR Consulting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their leadership team. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the company and contributing to its growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, assist in the development of robust budgeting and forecasting models, and report on any variances.
  • Financial Risk Management: Oversee the financial risk management process, identify areas for improvement, and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Financial Systems and Controls: Ensure that financial systems and controls are fit for purpose, properly maintained, and aligned with company policies.
  • Payroll and VAT Management: Oversee the payroll process, submit quarterly VAT returns, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Year-End Accounts: Manage the year-end statutory accounts process, liaise with external accountants as required, and ensure timely submission of accounts.
  • Cashflow Management: Monitor and forecast cashflow, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize cashflow.
  • Financial Process Improvement: Streamline and improve accounting systems and operations, develop new financial processes as required, and mentor and develop the finance function.

Requirements:

  • Commercial Focus: Possess a strong commercial focus, with the ability to influence at all levels and drive business growth.
  • Professional Qualifications: Be professionally qualified to CIMA / ACCA or ACA level.
  • Senior Finance Experience: Have previous experience at a senior level within the finance function of a business.
  • IT and Technology Knowledge: Possess strong IT and technology knowledge, with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes.
