We are seeking a full-time Biotechnology Research Specialist to join our team in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, at the Department of Engineering Science. The post is funded by BBSRC and is fixed-term for two years.
This project aims to develop a sustainable production method using biocatalysts to transform metabolic waste from cultured meat processes into essential amino acids and growth factors. As a Biotechnology Research Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out lab experiments under the supervision of the PI or PDRAs, which may include cell culture and characterisation, biomaterials preparation, and bioreactor setup.
You should possess a good degree in Biology or Biomedical Science or a closely related field and have experience with mammalian cell culture. This role requires strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
