Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Reliable Systems Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering team at General Motors. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing reliable systems for our vehicle data platforms.

About the Role

In this role, you will operate and influence data collection, processing, and delivery systems that are scalable, resilient, and capable of operating on millions of vehicles at a global scale. You will also leverage monitoring and observability tools to lead incident response efforts, ensure root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement after incidents.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement reliability patterns for client applications, communication protocols, and back-office services
  • Operate and influence data collection, processing, and delivery systems that are scalable, resilient, and capable of operating on millions of vehicles at a global scale
  • Leverage monitoring and observability tools to lead incident response efforts, ensure root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement after incidents
  • Participate in mentorship programs to help grow the team from your experiences

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need 8+ years of experience engineering reliability, as well as experience building and operating enterprise cloud applications. You should also be familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes. Additionally, you should have experience with security practices such as DevSecOps, and ensuring secure and compliant infrastructure as part of reliability engineering.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $140,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan.
