Paediatric Doctor ST3 Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day care of inpatients on the general paediatric ward and neonatal unit, working closely with trainees in post.
As a Locally Employed Doctor, the post holder will also be involved in the care of more complex in-patients under the supervision of consultants.
A weekly MDT is held on Tuesdays in the neonatal unit and on Wednesdays in the general paediatric ward, where all in-patients are reviewed by the whole team, including community nurses, liaison health visitors, and social workers.
The post holder may be asked to provide medical paediatric advice to paediatric Surgical, Orthopaedic, Plastic and Burns, ENT or Ophthalmology patients when on acute duties.
This is a full-time post to join our dynamic and enthusiastic paediatric department and support our team of Middle Grade doctors.
The post provides an ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified individual looking to continue to develop skills in general paediatrics and neonatology.
The post holder will be encouraged to actively participate in teaching and clinical governance activities, as well as clinical activities, for their continuous professional development.
The post holder will have regular supervision meetings and appraisal to ensure that their appraisal covers their whole practice, including any non-clinical roles as part of the process of revalidation.
The successful applicant will have general paediatric and neonatal duties, including on-call shifts for general and neonatal paediatrics.
As part of the middle grade rota, the successful candidate will share on-call commitments and shifts with the middle grade doctors.
