Job Description

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate English Language Specialist to join our team at Teaching Personnel. We are seeking an experienced teacher with a proven track record of delivering engaging English lessons, inspiring students to cultivate critical thinking, articulate communication, and lifelong learning skills.

Responsibilities
  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4, designing and delivering balanced curricula that cover literary analysis, creative expression, and essential language skills.
  • Develop students' love for literature, guiding them through a wide range of texts, and fostering their understanding of diverse perspectives and historical contexts.
  • Promote student success by equipping students with strong analytical skills and knowledge of English curriculum fundamentals, including GCSE preparation.
  • SUPPORT students in developing their own voices, confidence, and empathy through thoughtful reading and writing exercises.
  • Collaborate within the English Department, working closely with colleagues to innovate and share effective strategies, resources, and ideas that support students' academic and personal growth.
Key Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally within KS3 and KS4.
  • Passionate and motivating: Able to inspire a genuine interest in literature and language, encouraging students to think critically and communicate clearly.
  • Strong classroom presence: Skilled in managing and maintaining a positive, structured learning environment.
  • Collaborative team player: Engaged in teamwork and open to sharing best practices within the English department.
  • Growth mindset: Eager to develop professionally and participate in CPD provided by the school, embracing new teaching methods and ideas.
