Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:
Technique Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Fakenham. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for developing customized products for an international marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creation of overall design and assembly drawings to define customer requirements
  • Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal or external production
  • Creation of BOM for special products and procurement as required
  • Customer liaison for projects
  • Liaison with Workshop Supervisor to ensure projects are fulfilled on time
  • Continuous Improvement of existing products

Requirements:
  • A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of mechanisms, fabricated assemblies, and sheet metalwork
  • The ability to quickly and effectively design customized variants from a standard product range
  • The ability to prioritize workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects

Desirable Skills:
  • Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar
  • Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
  • Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
