About the Role:

White Trees Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Children's Support Worker to join our team. As a Therapeutic Project Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support and encourage children to progress towards their full potential.
  • Provide nurture, love, guidance, and support to young people, making the home a welcoming and homely place.
  • Empower and encourage young people to develop their life skills and independence skills, adhering to any independence programmes in place.
  • Ensure a detailed handover is given to staff coming on shift, and shift plans for the day are made in good time and are effective.
  • Complete accurate and reflective records of young people's engagement, mood, conversations, thoughts, and feelings.
  • Engage with our Wellbeing Services to ensure all young people receive therapeutic support.
  • Support the administering of medication in line with White Trees policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Drive company cars to transport young people to attend education, contact meetings, and activities.
  • Provide personal care to young people who are unwell or struggling with personal hygiene.
  • Stay up-to-date with all policies and procedures, and implement them within your working practice.
  • Promote, practice, and represent our company ethos, values, and expectations at all times.

Care Planning:

  • Encourage young people to share their views, wishes, worries, and concerns, and develop individualised care plans.
  • Advocate on behalf of young people, being their champion.
  • Actively look for ways to support young people to achieve their targets set within their care plan.
  • Develop Risk Assessments (RAMPs) and Positive Behaviour Plans for each young person, and ensure these are updated monthly.

Requirements:

  • You will be kind, caring, professional, and understanding, even in challenging situations.
  • You will be proactive and inventive in providing a bespoke and individualised service for each young person.
  • You will have a positive outlook and strive to find new ways to respond to difficulties.
  • You will be reflective upon your own work and skillset, and work on developing your role ongoingly.
