About Urban Initiatives:

We are an internationally recognised urban design and planning consultancy with over 30 years of experience in delivering urban projects. Our work extends across major cities and towns in the UK, Ireland, Europe, and beyond.

We are looking to appoint Senior and Associate Level Urban Designers to help us deliver an expanding workload of high profile and exciting projects. These positions are full time, based in Central London, and suitable for talented, enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in urban design and masterplanning in a relevant practice environment.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a leading capacity in the conceptualisation, management and design of medium and large scale masterplanning, urban design or policy development projects, and have experience in client facing interaction, team leadership, presentation, project management and report writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Working as lead designer and project manager in close collaboration with our leadership team on a range of urban design, masterplanning or policy projects.
  • Contributing to the preparation of tenders for future work.

Required Skills:

  • A creative approach to urban design and masterplanning
  • Strong analytical and conceptual design thinking.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • A professional approach to client management.
  • Project management experience.
  • Fluent written and spoken English with excellent command
  • Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Initiative, motivation and be a team player.
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS, AutoCad / Civil3d, Sketch-up and ArcGIS is essential
  • Must have the right to work in the UK

We offer a competitive salary based on experience, 10% to 16% pension contribution, performance-related annual bonus, private medical insurance, 35% salary uplift for overseas work, per diem payments during overseas assignments, life assurance, gym and retail discounts.
