Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Port of Leith. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and advance your career in the port industry.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintenance, repair, and fault-finding of electrical systems within the port
  • Installation and maintenance of LV electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, and control circuits
  • Undertaking training as an Authorised Person for operating and maintaining HV distribution equipment
  • Developing an in-depth working knowledge of plant equipment and associated drawings to minimise downtime when repairs are required
  • Escalating any equipment damage to Supervisory staff and liaising with operational staff to inform of timescales for repairs
  • Implementing best practice maintenance techniques to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure equipment is maintained for efficient plant operation

You will work in a fast-paced industrial environment with a dynamic team, and we offer a competitive salary of £36,207 + OTE (On Target Earnings), generous annual leave entitlement, and a range of benefits, including health insurance, pension scheme, and employee wellbeing initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A time-served qualification in electrical engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in heavy engineering environments
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC control systems, PLCs, and HV/LV systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
