Job Role

We are recruiting for a Law Firm Mental Health Department Manager to lead our mental health department, driving growth and expansion through strategic leadership and exceptional people skills.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in mental health law, strong knowledge of legal aid regulations, and the ability to manage a team effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and experience in mental health law, working with a dynamic team and contributing to the growth and success of our law firm.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Department Leadership: Lead and manage the mental health department, driving growth and expansion through strategic leadership.
  • Team Management: Manage and motivate a team of mental health solicitors, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional client service.
  • Case Management: Efficiently manage a caseload of mental health files, providing timely and effective representation to clients.
  • Performance Targets: Meet fee-earning targets and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) compliance.
Requirements:
  • Accreditation and Certifications: Panel Accreditation is essential; the candidate must hold a current Practicing Certificate and be a member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation scheme.
  • Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge and experience of legal aid regulations.
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • Teamwork and Organisation: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Business Development: Generate business for the department.
  • Confidentiality and Ethics: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in the field of mental health.
