Job Description

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated social workers to join our Children and Families Service as Child Protection Specialists. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for working with vulnerable children and families, providing expert guidance and support to ensure their safety and well-being.

Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality social work services in line with relevant legislation, including conducting initial assessments, developing and implementing child protection plans, and collaborating with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

You will be part of a close-knit team working within our Initial Response Team (IRT) or Locality Team, both of which offer opportunities to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families. As a Child Protection Specialist, you will have the autonomy to exercise professional judgment and take initiative in responding to complex situations, while also maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work (DipSW or equivalent) and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Possession of, or willingness to obtain, PVG scheme membership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
