About the Role

HCRG Workforce Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Practitioner to join our team in a military healthcare setting. As a Dental Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing a range of dental treatments to maintain oral health and undertake related administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently to provide dental treatment and maintain oral health
  • Assist the Senior Dental Officer (SDO) or operate independently to achieve dental fitness targets
  • Ensure at least 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for direct patient contact
  • Record treatment correctly on the electronic health record and relevant FMed documents
Standards and Compliance
  • Comply with all relevant Contracting Authority policy, including DPHC policies, regulations, and orders
  • Ensure surgery management, document administration, and equipment maintenance meet standards
  • Provide treatment in accordance with The College of General Dentistry (CGDent) guidelines
  • Comply with radiation safety orders and adhere to COSHH regulations
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions
  • Certified completion of Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK or at least 24 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience
  • Valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation
  • Provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4 Returning to Clinical Practice
  • Completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography, and radiation protection
  • Trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures
  • Undertaken additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures
Desirable Requirements
  • Previous Ministry of Defence (MoD) Experience
  • NHS Performer number
  • Dentally related level 7 postgraduate qualification
