Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to lead our pharmacy services in Anaesthetics and Critical Care at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients, influencing senior managers and clinicians, and managing junior pharmacy team members.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the Clinical Pharmacy service to Anaesthetics and Critical Care, including responsibility for Critical Care wards, Theatres, Acute and Chronic Pain services, and Resuscitation services cross-site.
  • Lead and manage the Anaesthetics and Critical Care pharmacy team.
  • Develop and implement policy, guidelines, and protocols within Anaesthetics and Critical Care.
  • Contribute to the management of the drugs budget for Anaesthetics and Critical Care and implement any drug savings.

Person Specification

We are looking for a pharmacist with a strong background in Anaesthetics and Critical Care, with advanced clinical knowledge and experience of leading pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have a Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice/Clinical Pharmacy and be practicing at an equivalent of Advanced Stage 1 in Critical Care. They will also have excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
