Combustion Engineer

As a skilled professional at Jaguar Land Rover, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and meeting the highest quality standards. You'll collaborate with other expert technicians and leaders in skilled roles to bring to life era-defining vehicles that people across the world know and love.

This role will work as part of the maintenance site services team at Solihull and is responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective tasks on Gas appliances and HVAC equipment. You'll also support with all aspects of pipefitting and plumbing.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow technical drawings, plans, and diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of gas systems.
• Install and maintain gas appliances and gas systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Carry out planned maintenance checks on systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• Test the integrity of controls and safety devices to ensure the safe operation of gas systems.
• Trace and repair gas leaks to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Replace or repair faulty or worn parts to maintain the integrity of gas systems.
• Ensure all necessary documentation and reports relating to unsatisfactory or unsafe equipment are immediately communicated to Supervision.
• You will be responsible for proactive and reactive maintenance, including fault finding across a diverse range of natural gas fired boilers and systems.
• You will be identifying areas for additional works within and outside of the specified requirements.
• Ensure all relevant gas distribution systems are functional and operational within design parameters and carry out necessary repairs within agreed response and rectification times.

Requirements

• You must have a recognised gas industry Level 3 qualification, assessed through the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) and Gas Safe registration.
• It is essential that you hold Core Domestic or Commercial Gas qualifications including either CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1 and/or CoDNCO1, CDGA1, CIGA1, ICPN1.
• Experience in installation or maintaining heating systems, repairing sanitation systems, installing domestic appliances, emergency repairs on water systems.
• Experience in installation of pipework and repairs for compressed air systems.
• Relevant electrical testing and fault-finding qualification such as ACOP 6/7.
