Anaesthetic Nursing Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our team at the Day Surgery Unit, Cirencester Treatment Centre, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assistance to consultants during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, and provide immediate post-operative care.
- Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner, ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Participate fully as a team member, sharing knowledge and information, and supporting colleagues to promote a cohesive team and achieve team objectives.
- Help to control cross-infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress and maintaining a clean working environment.
- NMC level 1 Registered Nurse with current anaesthetic qualification or HCPC registered ODP.
- IT skills, including Electronic Patient Systems.
- Enhanced levels of dexterity and accuracy pertaining to clinical skills, administration of intravenous injections, and scrub nursing.
- Ability to assess patient condition and implement appropriate care within the multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication skills, particularly in situations where patient ability to communicate is compromised.
- Ability to disseminate contentious and delicate information appropriately.
- Deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate.
- Administer medication and treatment within Procedure for the Ordering, Prescribing, and Administration of Medication Guidelines.
- Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and professional code of conduct.
- Input and retrieve patient and staff information from computer-based systems.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records.
