Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team based in Lancashire. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and modifying mechanical systems to meet the specific requirements of site applications. This role requires expertise in design alterations, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt designs to meet practical, site-based challenges.

  • Design Alterations: Modify and adapt existing mechanical designs to ensure they are suitable for on-site implementation, taking into account practical constraints, environmental factors, and client-specific requirements.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and construction teams to ensure the smooth transition from design to on-site implementation.
  • Technical Support: Provide engineering support during the installation and commissioning phases, ensuring that designs are executed correctly and any necessary adjustments are made to suit site conditions.
  • Quality Assurance: Review design work for compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering (building services) and be comfortable working on both design and implementation stages of projects. They should also have proficiency in CAD Software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar), with the ability to create detailed 2D and 3D designs, models, and assemblies.

Benefits:
