Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a KS1 class.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to the child with ASC, helping them to regulate their emotions and behaviors.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support the child's learning and well-being.
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting activities to meet the child's needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure consistency and continuity of support.
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school community, supporting the development of inclusive education practices.
Requirements
  • 2:1 or higher degree in a relevant field and excellent A-Level and GCSE grades.
  • Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition and experience working with children with ASC.
  • Dedication, resilience, and a positive outlook, with the ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Calm, patient, and understanding approach, with a passion for inclusive education.
  • Ability to make learning fun and engaging, inspiring and motivating pupils.
  • Good communication skills and a team player.
