About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Client Manager to join our dynamic and reputable accountancy practice in Oldham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors, providing accounting, tax, and advisory services.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, and tax returns.
  • Offer proactive business advice to clients, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for financial queries.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, reviewing their work, and providing training where necessary.
  • Ensure all client work is completed accurately and in a timely manner, meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clients' financial processes and suggest value-added services.
  • Stay up to date with accounting standards and tax regulations to ensure compliance and advise clients accordingly.
  • Assist with business development, including onboarding new clients and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory authorities on behalf of clients when required.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (QBE is experience is also accepted) with a minimum of 4 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Experience managing a client portfolio and delivering a range of accounting and tax services.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience mentoring and managing junior staff is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, client-focused approach.
