As a Software Engineer II at Rapid7, you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a dynamic team. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain our well-architected services, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and secure.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Build and maintain our data platform, utilizing tools such as Kafka, K8s, AWS, TimescaleDB, and Spark.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless data integration and delivery.
  • Take an active role in the design and planning of upcoming features, working closely with senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a shared Data Platform.

About the Team

The Platform Analytics team plays a critical role in helping Rapid7 customers stay safe from attacks and breaches. We're looking for a skilled engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our data platform.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 2-4 years of experience in software development using Python or equivalent programming languages.
  • Experience with common data engineering tooling, including Kafka, RDBMS tools, SQS, Lambda, and Spark.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and working knowledge of Terraform.
  • Cloud experience, with AWS being a plus.
  • Experience working with container technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and ECS.
  • Foundational understanding of subnets, firewalls, and other system architecture concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a passion for technology and a willingness to learn.
