Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join our Maternity Operating Theatre team in York and Scarborough. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Maternity Theatres and be able to demonstrate excellent clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise patient care.
Main Duties of the Job
- Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise patient care.
- Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using a variety of methods.
- Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres.
- Prepare and organise clinical areas to receive patients for elective and emergency procedures.
- Safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
- Responsible for adhering to the NMC / ODP professional Code of Conduct.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Level 1) or qualified Operating Department Practitioner with HPC registration or Anaesthetic Nurse (ENB 182/183 or equivalent).
Experience
- 3 years' experience in Maternity Theatres OR 3 years' experience in Gynae/GI/Vascular or Urology Theatres.
Knowledge
- Demonstrate awareness of current issues in Maternity Services within the NHS.
- Demonstrate awareness of current issues in Maternity Theatres within the NHS.
Behaviours
