Job Purpose

As a key member of the People Team at Halfords, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient functioning of our HR processes, ensuring a positive and productive work environment, and driving the growth and development of our team.

Key Responsibilities

Joiners:

  • Produce offer letters and contracts for Support Centre and Logistics colleagues, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Audit Legal Right to Work in the UK for group-wide business and run expiring visa reports to maintain legal compliance.
  • Conduct relevant reference checks for new starters, verifying their qualifications and experience.
  • Manage and monitor recruitment reward incentives, promoting a positive candidate experience.

Movers:

  • Produce contractual changes and letters for group-wide business, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Act as the primary contact for queries on the HR system, providing technical support and ensuring the central people database (Dayforce) is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the central people system (Dayforce) with all changes to role, salary, location, line manager, and filing.
  • Process internal people transfers and support recruitment for Autocentre and Retail colleagues, promoting a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Produce secondment letters for all colleagues, making relevant changes on Dayforce and maintaining monthly reports to the business.
  • Responsible for making Flexible Working changes in Dayforce, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Leavers:

  • Manage the leavers process for Support Centre and Logistics effectively, producing leaver letters and ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Calculate holiday balances for colleagues across the business, ensuring accurate pay.
  • Liaise with the Payroll team to ensure final payments are processed, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Support Payroll with overpayments, drafting letters and setting up payment plans.
  • Produce references for leavers, verifying their employment history.

General Administration:

  • Own and manage the People Support inbox, responding to queries and resolving issues.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting to support BAU tasks, ensuring timely completion.
  • Support data collection for audits, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Process invoices for the People Team, ensuring timely payment.
  • Perform general administration and project work as required, supporting the team's objectives.
