Driver and Stock Handler

Salary: £22,000 - £28,000 per annum

We are looking for a reliable and organized individual to join our team as a Driver and Stock Handler. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a large vehicle, maintaining its daily operations, and circulating stock within the library network.

The ideal candidate will have experience in driving large vehicles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving a specially equipped large vehicle
• Maintaining the vehicle's day-to-day running order
• Cleaning and washing the vehicle
• Promoting mobile services to the public
• Circulating stock to the public and within the library network
• Inputting, checking, and maintaining database records
• Handling customer requests and enquiries
• Stock maintenance, including shelving, handling, processing, and minor repairs
• Cash handling and other duties associated with library services
• Implementing health and safety procedures
• Participating in staff training

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be required to:

• Assist with promotional activities and events
• Provide excellent customer service
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment

Requirements

• Experience in driving large vehicles
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic IT skills and ability to use database software
