Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our team at Macgregor Cavendish (UK) Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our depot, managing resources, and driving cost, service, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all areas of the warehouse sortation in an efficient and cost-effective manner to achieve depot key KPIs, including sortation compliance, vehicle departure times, and quality of sortation.
- Assist the Depot General Manager in managing and controlling the budget to achieve agreed service levels, including productivity, labour costs, overtime usage, and agency usage.
- Deal with depot recruitment, ensuring that all new hires meet the company's standards.
- Maintain the health, safety, and welfare of all employees and visitors, and control the overall security of the depot.
- Comply with health and safety regulations by ensuring safe systems of work, risk assessments, accident investigations, and reporting are completed and reviewed regularly.
- Performance manage direct reports, setting and monitoring key objectives.
- Ensure compliance with the legal requirements of the 'O' Licence.
- Maintain the company's security processes and control the safekeeping of all company assets.
Requirements
- Strong management experience, particularly in logistics and distribution.
- Ability to work independently in a pressurized environment, meeting tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of PC software.
- Understanding of transport regulations and laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of staff.
- Numerate and self-motivated, with a flexible approach to work to meet business requirements.
