Job Summary:
The Director of Flight Operations is a pivotal role within Ascend Airways' leadership team, contributing to the company's ongoing success and supporting the achievement of 2025 growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic management of the Flight Ops department, delegating responsibility to the Deputy Director where necessary.
- Directing and overseeing the work and management of all roles within the Flight Ops department.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, and other relevant legislation affecting air operations.
- Supervising incident management, conducting thorough investigations into incidents involving the fleet.
- Championing health and safety standards, leading by example and participating in safety and strategy reviews.
- Reporting on important departmental updates at weekly management meetings.
- Monitoring and controlling operational efficiency standards.
- Maintaining key relationships with internal departments, third parties, clients, and customers.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Boeing Pilot.
- Flight operations leadership experience.
- Senior management experience in the aviation industry, with a proven track record of managing a busy team.
- Experience with pilot recruitment processes and procedures, including knowledge of simulator testing.
- A background in aviation training is desirable but not essential.
