SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception 1:1 Role

EdEx Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to two children awaiting ASD diagnosis in a Reception class. This is a full-time, long-term position commencing in September 2024.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to create a tailored learning environment that meets the needs of the students. Your primary responsibility will be to provide 1:1 support to the two children, helping them to access the curriculum and develop their skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to two children awaiting ASD diagnosis in a Reception class
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to create a tailored learning environment
  • Help students to access the curriculum and develop their skills and confidence
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 1:1 or 2:1 degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience working with children, either personally or professionally
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with students, teachers, and parents
  • Patience, understanding, and a creative approach to supporting students with SEN
