Job Title: Fire Door Surveyor

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Birmingham and West Midlands area

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Door Surveyor to join our team at Progroup Recruitment Limited. As a Fire Door Surveyor, you will be responsible for identifying points for correction on fire doors and compartmentation through compliance inspections and structural surveys.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct compliance inspections and structural surveys to identify points for correction on fire doors and compartmentation
  • Record findings on relevant compliance software and write final reports
  • Manage appointments and provide technical advice
  • Perform post-work inspections and assist Contracts and Operations Managers as needed

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of £26/hour, plus a vehicle and fuel card
  • The opportunity to transition to a permanent contract after 3 months, with a salary of £38,000/year

    • Level 2 ASFP (Association of Specialist Fire Protection) training
    • IFE (Institute of Fire Engineers) training and accreditation
    • FIRAS Supervisor training
    • BM TRADA training for fire door sign-offs

Requirements:

  • Good technical knowledge of fire doors and compartmentation/fire stopping (fire doors preferred)
  • Experience working within the social housing sector
  • The ability to liaise and report to clients and tenants where required
  • Experience surveying both fire doors and fire stopping (fire doors preferred)
  • NVQ or equivalent in carpentry or passive fire protection
  • Experience with compliance recording software such as One Trace or Bolster
  • Good IT skills, including MS Excel
  • A basic DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
