About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Advanced Stroke Therapist to join our dynamic team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our busy stroke unit.

Based at Maidstone Hospital, one of two major hospital sites, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients suffering from acute strokes. This role is ideal for a motivated and compassionate individual who is passionate about delivering excellent patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide expert assessment and management of acute stroke admissions, ensuring timely and effective interventions to improve patient outcomes.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines, promoting best practices in stroke care.
  • To participate in the out-of-hours rota, providing on-call support to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • To engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in stroke medicine.
  • To contribute to the development of clinical governance strategies, ensuring continuous quality improvement in our stroke services.
  • To participate in audit and research activities, identifying opportunities for service improvements and contributing to the advancement of stroke care.

What We're Looking For

  • FMC registration or equivalent.
  • Experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk, with the ability to prioritize clinical needs.
  • Wide experience of general medicine and expertise in stroke medicine and/or neurology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a close-knit team.
  • A thorough understanding of principles of medical audit, with experience in undertaking and completing audit projects.
