Matron of Quality and Governance

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Matron of Quality and Governance to join our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and advising on all aspects of clinical quality, risk management, and governance processes across maternity services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of the Maternity Risk and Governance Strategy
- Coordinate the Maternity Governance Committee, Maternity Incident Review and Escalation forum, and Labour Ward Forum
- Investigate incidents thoroughly, using the appropriate methods in line with the Trust Patient Safety Incident Response Plan
- Develop and implement clinical risk management initiatives and strategies
- Work collaboratively with the Consultant Midwife to identify and action quality improvement initiatives
- Provide statistics as required by the Division or the Trust, including high-level reports relevant to quality, risk, and governance
- Assist the Legal Department in the management of litigation cases, providing advice, support, and written reports as required
- Manage and maintain the Maternity programme of audit and guideline management
We are looking for a Registered Midwife with a BSc degree qualification and previous experience in a Governance-related role. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience at Band 7 or senior Band 6 position and knowledge of Maternity Governance, clinical governance, and risk management.
The successful candidate will be a good communicator with colleagues, even in challenging situations, and have the ability to produce a chronology of care provided. They will also be courteous, respectful, kind, and helpful, with responsive communication skills.
