Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and helping them overcome challenges to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Manage challenging behaviour and promote a positive learning environment, fostering a sense of community and respect among students.
  • Support students with special educational needs, including those with SEMH and ASD, by developing and implementing effective learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with other staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies, ensuring a cohesive and supportive team approach.
Requirements:
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour and a strong understanding of behaviour management techniques.
  • Ideally, experience working in a SEN school setting, with a proven track record of supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children, with a commitment to providing high-quality support and guidance.
