Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Groundworks Cost Manager to join our team in the West Midlands. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of each project.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to monitor costs. You will conduct accurate cost analysis, valuations, and risk assessments, negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms, and manage contracts and subcontracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to monitor costs.

  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Manage contracts and subcontracts, handling variations and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure projects meet financial targets and schedules.
  • Perform regular site visits to support cost control and monitor project progress.
  • Produce monthly valuations and final accounts, ensuring profitability on all assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience in Quantity Surveying or a related field, ideally within groundworks or civil engineering.
  • Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred but not essential with strong experience).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of groundwork processes, cost management, and construction contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard QS software (e.g., COINS, Causeway, or similar).
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites across the West Midlands.
