Religious Studies Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Studies Teacher to join our team at an Outstanding Secondary School in Dartford, London. As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the school's mission of providing high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Religious Studies students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records of academic performance.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and guardians to provide comprehensive support for Religious Studies students.
  • Participate in school-related activities, such as performances, events, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.
  • Employ effective classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in teaching Religious Studies in a mainstream secondary school.
  • QTS or equivalent qualification.
  • A recognized teaching qualification, preferably a Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with effective communication and collaboration with parents, staff, and students.
  • Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and its application in the classroom.
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to accommodate different learning styles.
  • A passion for teaching and making a positive impact on students' lives.
