An innovative designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic products is seeking a skilled Production & Development Engineer. Based in Beckenham, the ideal candidate will have strong skills in CAD and production development.

Job Overview
  • Regular inspection and maintenance of production tools and equipment are crucial for efficient operations.
  • The design and manufacture or sourcing of tools and fixtures to support new product development using SolidEdge are essential tasks.
  • Developing and implementing tools and fixtures for both new and existing products while optimizing assembly processes for efficiency and capability is key to success.
  • Leading sample builds and testing for new product designs is an exciting aspect of this role.
  • Documenting and refining production processes, establishing key control parameters, is vital for quality assurance.
  • Identifying opportunities for product and process improvements requires strong analytical skills.
  • Analyzing and addressing issues with returned materials, implementing corrective and preventative actions, is critical for customer satisfaction.
  • Engaging in prototyping and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is an opportunity to explore innovative solutions.
  • Training and supporting staff is an important aspect of team management.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in creating, reading, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications is necessary.
  • Experience in designing and building products, fixtures, and processes is required.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on process documentation and improvement, are essential.
  • Competence in CAD software and knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures are key qualifications.
  • A degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline is required.
  • Management or supervising experience would be advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
  • The salary for this position is estimated at £38,750 per annum, based on industry standards.
  • Potential bonus depending on company performance may be available.
  • A pension scheme matched up to 5% + 3% is offered.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays are provided.
