About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assertive Outreach Worker, playing a vital role in supporting service users through their treatment and recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver psychosocial interventions as part of the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service within the prison estate.
  • Support service users from point of entry into the service and throughout their treatment/recovery journey.
  • Work in partnership with other healthcare providers as part of an Integrated Health and Wellbeing model.
  • Advocate on behalf of service users who are unwilling or unable to engage in treatment.
  • Proactively follow up with service users who miss appointments to increase the opportunity for engagement.
  • Contribute to risk management processes, including the prison ACCT process as appropriate.
  • Work with service users to support social reintegration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

About You:

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field, ideally within the prison or criminal justice sector.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Proactive and able to work on your own initiative, with excellent time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
  • Ability to manage change successfully, prioritizing the needs of service users.
  • Understanding of the importance of information governance processes and commitment to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills, and contribute to and oversee the learning and development of others.
