Job Title: Program Editor - TV News Production

We are seeking a skilled Program Editor to join our team at Mediabistro in London. As a Program Editor, you will be responsible for creating high-quality TV news rundowns and taking them to air in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain TV news rundowns, ensuring they are editorially sound and visually engaging for the audience.
  • React swiftly and professionally to breaking news events, adapting the format as needed to ensure world-class coverage.
  • Collaborate with the newsroom, gallery teams, anchors, and newsdesk to ensure seamless communication and efficient production.
  • Mentor and upskill Deputy Programme Editors and Producers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with global events and trends, contributing to daily editorial meetings and suggesting original story ideas.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in TV news production or a related field.
  • Excellent journalism skills with strong editorial judgment.
  • Experience in building programme rundowns and live gallery television production.
  • Knowledge of newsroom production systems and desktop editing.
  • High level of proficiency in English.
