Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to support our primary school's success in a high-level Teaching Assistant role. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting early childhood education and development, and will be able to inspire and engage young minds with innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in the planning and preparation of lessons, including the preparation of resources and materials.
  • Cover the class and deliver planned work in the teacher's absence, including PPA time and teacher absence.
  • Maintain a controlled and safe environment in the classroom, ensuring the well-being and safety of all pupils.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to organize appropriate activities, including group work and one-to-one support.
  • Liaise with other professionals, including teachers, teaching assistants, and specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with other Learning Support Assistants and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Prepare and develop class displays, showcasing the work and achievements of the pupils.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Previous HLTA and class leadership experience, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with, young people, including those with challenging behaviors.
  • Be creative, proactive, and flexible in their supporting style, with a strong commitment to supporting the class teacher and the school's goals.
  • HLTA qualified, with a Level 3 or 4 qualification.
