Job Description

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor to join our team at Chadwick Nott Legal Recruitment. As a Residential Property Solicitor, you will be responsible for handling sales and purchases of residential property for clients, including dealing with all SDLT procedures and registration aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling sales and purchases of residential property for clients from start to finish.
  • Dealing with all SDLT procedures and registration aspects.
  • Reporting and responsible to the Head of Property in terms of client handling and financial/performance duties.
  • Dealing with sales of property on behalf of Executors.
  • Transferring properties for no consideration for tax planning reasons.
  • Liaising with the family department to implement the property aspects of a consent order.
  • Undertaking voluntary first registrations on behalf of clients.
  • Reconstituting titles for clients with missing title deeds.
  • Dealing with basic Deeds of Covenant and Deeds of Easement.
  • Drafting Assured Shorthold Tenancies and giving advice regarding requirement to register deposits etc.
  • Handling other residential tenancy-related work.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for reception for clients with property queries.
  • Providing supervision for the more junior members of the team.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of residential conveyancing.
  • Knowledge of procedures for unregistered land.
  • Solid working knowledge of property law.
  • Experience of handling own case load and dealing with clients and third parties unsupervised.
